Q:  WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE RACE EQUALITY CHARTER?

A:  The Race Equality Charter (REC) aims to improve the representation, progression and success of minority ethnic staff and students within higher education.

Q:  WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE REC SURVEY?

A:  As part of our REC application we are required to undertake a survey with staff and students.

The surveys are an essential part of this application as it gives us the opportunity to understand the current culture at LJMU and understand the steps that individuals believe that we need to take to eradicate racial discrimination and advance race equality.

Q:   WHO DOES RACE EQUALITY EFFECT?  

A:   Everyone!

Q:   HOW CAN STAFF SUPPORT RACE EQUALTY AT LJMU?   

A:   There are a number of ways for staff to support Race Equality at LJMU, such as:

1.         Attend Unconscious Bias and Intercultural Competence Training

2.         Complete the REC survey with your honest experiences of Race Equality
