Association of Chartered Certified Accountants endorses LJMU Accounting Clinic
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has recognised LJMU for the innovative work of its Accounting Clinic which provides a pro-bono service for charities delivered by student advisors.
Michael Franco, Programme Leader for Accounting & Finance, said: “This endorsement and accreditation by the ACCA recognises the work and commitment of the Liverpool Business School Accounting Clinic and the academics and students involved with it.
“Not only is the accounting clinic providing charities with a pro-bono service offering advice, support and guidance in the completion of independent examinations but, it is also providing students with practical and relevant professional experience.
“Receiving this accreditation validates the on-going commitment and support provided by our dedicated team of professional accounting academics - Pam Dodd, Chris Dickson and Vicki McClafferty - along with Tonia Galati at TGConsulting who worked with the ACCA to establish the accreditation.
“This achievement not only provides our accounting and finance students with a unique and innovative professional experience but, it also significantly enhances the positive impact we are making within our community.”

About the clinic
The clinic service is free to eligible UK charities. Clinics are led by selected final year accounting and finance students who are supervised by LJMU academic staff who are qualified accountants.
Student advisors review the necessary charity accounts and outline any system enhancements before academics review all completed documentation and sign-off the independent examination.
