I am a senior lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University for pre-registration nursing programmes. I completed my BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Degree and became a registered nurse focusing on a career as a community district nurse'. My role included caring for patients, carers and families with complex care needs, within a variety of community settings, and co-ordinating teams to ensure safe and effective care within communities. I went onto complete additional qualifications to become a nurse independent and supplementary prescriber, a community practitioner nurse prescriber and gained a qualification to become a specialist practitioner - district nurse.
With a passion to educate others I joined Liverpool John Moores University as a lecturer during the year 2022. I have been able to share my expertise knowledge and skills with pre-registration nursing students to support aspiring student nurses to become registered nurses.
