International Induction 2024
When is the International Welcome and Induction?
International Welcome and Induction will be held on 9 and 15 January 2024.
All students studying LLM International Business Corporate and Finance Law are expected to join the induction session on 9 January as teaching starts on 10 January 2024.
Who should attend this event?
All full time international students, including study abroad and exchange programmes students starting their studies in January 2024.
Why should I attend the International Induction and Welcome Event?
Attending the international welcome and induction event is a great way to start your new life in Liverpool. The event will give you the chance to discover your new university environment and campuses, as well as connect with other international students also starting their LJMU journey.
Members of the international and student support teams will be on hand to offer guidance and support, and you will also get to meet your new programme leaders.

9 January 2024
9am to 4.30pm: Student ID Collection, Redmonds Room 114
12pm: Collect welcome bag, outside Redmonds Large Lecture Theatre
12.30pm: International Induction Session (supported by Registry, JMSU, Library Services, International Recruitment and Student Advice and Wellbeing), Redmonds Large Lecture Theatre
2 to 3pm: Faculty Welcome Business and Law, Redmonds Large Lecture Theatre
2.30 to 5pm: Faculty Welcome Faculty of Engineering and Technology, James Parsons Lower Lecture Theatre
15 January 2024
9am to 4pm: Student ID Collection, Exchange Station G.09
12pm: Collect welcome bag, Peter Jost Upper Exhibition Area
1pm: International Induction Session (supported by Registry, JMSU, Library Services, International Recruitment and Student Advice and Wellbeing), Peter Jost Lecture Theatre

Are there any social activities planned for international students during this event?
There will be a chance to meet your peers during various activities. More information will be given to you as part of induction.
Where can I collect my student ID card?
Student ID Collection will be available to students who have done the following:
- Paid up to 50% of their tuition fees.
- Completed online registration and enrolment.
ID collection will be available on the following dates and times:
- 9 January from 9am to 4pm - Redmonds Building Room 114
- 10 to 26 January from 9am to 4pm - Exchange Station (report to LJMU reception)
Bring your passport when collecting your student ID card.
When will I start my studies at LJMU?
LLM International Business Corporate and Finance Law teaching begins on 10 January 2024.
All other programmes begin on 15 January 2024.
How do I book a place at the International Welcome Event?
An email invite will be sent to all students with a CAS from 15 December 2024
What if I cannot attend the International Welcome Event?
All international students have to attend one of the induction sessions as these are mandatory.

Where can I collect my BRP card once in Liverpool
You will need to collect your BRP from the post office you added to your visa application.
Most LJMU students will collect their BRPs from Central Village Post Office, St John's Shopping Centre, 39 Dawson Way, Liverpool L1 1LJ.
Airport meet and greet
We will be offering an airport meet and greet service from Liverpool John Lennon and Manchester International airports. This airport pickup service is designed to accommodate students for their arrival into Liverpool, and more specifically for those who will be attending our in-person induction/welcome events.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide our airport pick up service to those who will be studying at LJMU as a partnership exchange or study abroad student (for example, if you are completing a semester abroad in partnership with LJMU). If you are an exchange or study abroad student, please visit the dedicated arrival and orientation page for further details and answers to the frequently asked questions.
To book this service, you will need to give our support team at least four days’ notice to guarantee the transfer for you. To book your transfer please contact email@example.com.
Airport booking will be available soon and you will be emailed with further details.
Please be aware that we only offer this pickup service for drop off to the following postcode areas within Liverpool: L1 to L8, L13 to L15 and L17 to L19.
