Research and Knowledge Exchange Plan (PDF, 947KB): Sets out LJMU’s guiding principles, key priorities and themes.
School and Faculty Ethics Committees: School based Research Ethics Committees operate to provide an ethical opinion on research projects undertaken by UG and PGT students.
University Research Ethics Committee (UREC): Reviews ethics applications for projects involving human participants or their data.

Code of Practice for Research and Knowledge Exchange: Ensure those involved in research activities at Liverpool John Moores University are well-informed about and compliant with current legal, regulatory, and institutional principles and expectations.
Conflict of Interest Policy: Explains what is regarded as conflict of interest by the University and what procedures should be followed in situations where a conflict, or perceived conflict, of interest arises.
Data Protection Policy: Outlines how we comply with the data protection obligations as set out in the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Exclusivity of Service: Outlines how the University deals with exclusivity of service and the process a member of staff should follow with regard to declaring external work.
Export Control and Sanctions Policy: Developed to ensure that risks associated with international research are identified and managed, and that research-active staff are made aware of their responsibilities when participating in international research.
Financial Due Diligence Policy: Define the types of relationship which will require the University to undertake financial due diligence.

Human Tissue Act 2004 at LJMU: Regulates the storage and use of human organs and tissues from living individuals and the removal, storage and use of human organs and tissues from the deceased.
Information Security Policy: Defines the responsibilities of individuals with respect to information use and to the provision and use of information processing systems.
Intellectual Property Policy: Outlines the ownership, management, protection and use of IP and know-how created by staff and students at Liverpool John Moores University.
LJMU CoARA (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment) Action Plan (PDF, 133KB): Guides how LJMU embeds more inclusive, transparent, and values-based approaches to recognising and evaluating RKE activity.
LJMU Open Access Publication Policy: LJMU supports the principle that the outcomes of research should be made openly available.
LJMU REF 2029 Code of Practice: A set of guidelines and procedures that a HEI develops and implements to make decisions on its submission to the exercise.
LJMU statement on Open Research: Consider how research could be conducted in the most open way possible.
LJMU statement on Responsible Research Assessment: A statement for LJMU researchers to draw upon when they design, experience, or challenge research assessments.
Policy for Alleged Misconduct in Research and Knowledge Exchange: Allegations will be investigated and reported on as detailed in the procedure.
Research and Knowledge Exchange Data Management Policy: Provides guidance and support on the responsibilities of the University and its staff in managing and preserving current or future research data.

Athena SWAN: LJMU holds the Athena Swan Silver Award for its commitment to promoting gender equality.
Gender Equality Plan Statement (PDF, 226KB): The University has developed a Gender Equality Plan as part of our continued commitment to the Athena SWAN charter.
Higher Education Research Security Association (HERSA): Enables collaboration across the UK HE sector to foster a consistent approach to security compliance at a national level.
KE Concordat: LJMU has made a commitment to the principles of the KE concordat.
Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF): KE activity is measured against KEF on a biennial basis using RKE metrics.
National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE) Manifesto for Public Engagement: LJMU has made a commitment to public engagement by signing this manifesto.
National Protective Security Authority (NPSA): Helps institutions understand what good practice in research security should look like at an institutional level.
Spin-out best practice commitments: A statement of adoption of the best practices recommended in the spin-out review.
The Concordat on Open Research Data (PDF, 178KB): Helps to ensure that research data gathered and generated by members of the UK research community is made available to others.
The Concordat to support Research Integrity (PDF, 2.2MB): Sets the framework by which the UK research community, and those collaborating with them, can support the trustworthiness of UK research.
The Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers: An agreement between stakeholders to improve the research environment and employment support for researchers in UK HE.
The UK Committee on Research Integrity (UKCORI): Provides strategic leadership, builds consensus and co-ownership across the system and defines the future structures required to support research integrity across the UK.
The UK Research Integrity Office: Promoting integrity and high ethical standards in research.
The Wellcome Concordat for the Environmental Sustainability of Research and Innovation Practice: LJMU’s Letter of commitment to the priorities of the concordat.
UKRI Open Access policy: For research publications that acknowledge funding from UKRI and any of its councils.
