Canvas course prize draw
Our competition has now closed, and three lucky winners were chosen by random chance. Thank you to everyone who participated. If you haven’t already done so, please enrol for the cybersecurity course as set out below.
We have an online course to support you in your secure use of digital technology at LJMU. Although the course is titled ‘Top tips for staff’, it is equally relevant to students too.
Any students that complete the course by 31 October 2025 will be entered into a prize draw to win some amazon vouchers.

Prize draw terms and conditions
NCDPO1 training students
- The prize draw is open to all Liverpool John Moores University students.
- The Promoter of this prize draw is Liverpool John Moores University, of Student Life Building, Liverpool, L3 5AH (“LJMU”).
- The prize draw is free to enter.
- In order to enter, just complete the training module NCDPO1 on Canvas which includes an assignment on Privacy and Cybersecurity Tips (“the Training Module”) within the timeframe detailed below.
- Completing the Training Module at any time between 09.00am on 1st September 2025 to 11:59pm on 31 October 2025 will automatically enter you in the prize draw. The Training Module will need to be completed in full by the closing date in order to be accepted.
- LJMU accepts no responsibility for the Training Module not successfully registering as completed due to a technical fault of any kind.
- There will be three (3) winners chosen by random draw performed by a computer process on 7 November 2025 ("Draw Date").
- The winners will each receive a £50 Amazon gift card.
- The winner will be notified by email to their LJMU student email address before 14 November 2025. If a winner does not respond to LJMU within 14 days of being notified by LJMU, then the winner's prize will be forfeited and LJMU will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
- The prize can be collected in person from the LJMU Data Protection Officer by the winner within 10 days of being notified of their win.
- The prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
- The decision of LJMU regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
- LJMU must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation LJMU will send the surname and county of prize winners to anyone who emails DPO@ljmu.ac.uk within one month after the closing date stated in condition 5. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact DPO@LJMU.ac.uk. In such circumstances, LJMU must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
- Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. LJMU reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
- LJMU reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.
- Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion will only be processed as set out in LJMU’s student privacy notice.
- These terms and conditions and this promotion are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts of England.
