Student is experiencing problems affecting their wellbeing
As a personal tutor, you may be a first point of contact for a student who has wellbeing issues. These issues may affect their studies or put them at risk of withdrawal or disengaging.
The Student Wellbeing Team can advise on appropriate support services.
Student has financial difficulties
A student may require advice on budgeting, student finance, and accessing financial support. This may be extra bursaries and scholarships.
Information on financial support is available on the cost of living support website.
If a student is seeking part-time work, direct them to LJMU’s on-campus recruitment agency, Unitemps.
Unitemps is LJMU’s own on-campus recruitment agency. We provide opportunities for our students to access paid work in support of their study. This work also strengthens their CV, and their employability skills. Student Futures can also provide advice on seeking and securing part-time work.
Student is looking for support for emotional difficulties
If a student is experiencing emotional difficulties, our Counselling Team can help. They will address concerns that may be affecting a student's life and studies.
Please note:
At busy times of the year, there is likely to be a wait for counselling to begin.
Student is experiencing mental health difficulties
These mental health difficulties may be an existing or undiagnosed mental health condition.
