Feeling lonely and overwhelmed is normal, whether you’re a new student or coming back to your studies. You might think everyone on your social media feed is having a better time than you. But remember, others feel the same way you do.
There is a wide range of support available. You’re not on your own at Liverpool John Moores University – there’s always someone on hand to help, advise, and guide.
Talk about how you feel. You can chat with a friend, flatmate, or someone from our Student Living and Wellbeing teams. Feeling lonely is common, and it can pass. But if you don’t talk about it, those feelings might get worse or take longer to go away.
Speak to our Wellbeing Team if you feel you need support with your wellbeing or mental health. They also provide self-help information, tools, and workshops. They can help you with issues like anxiety, depression, homesickness, or anything else you might face.
As a student, balancing work and life is key. Take time to explore the city, try new things, and meet new people. This will boost your wellbeing and help you enjoy your student experience.
