Welcome Week 2022
We’ve got an exciting schedule full of activities and events for you this September!
Welcome events will run across the month of September with the main Welcome Week taking place over induction week from Monday 19 - Friday 23 September for new and returning students.
From Outdoor Cinema evenings to BBQs and puppy yoga, all the events can be viewed and booked via the John Moores Students’ Union (JMSU) Freshers 22 microsite (opens in a new tab).
Two of the main events not to miss will be the big SLB Welcome Day (opens in a new tab) on Monday 19 September, and the Advice and Support Fair (opens in a new tab)on Wednesday 21 September, in the SLB.
There will also be a free welcome goody bag which can be collected from JMSU Reception in the SLB 10-7pm on Monday 19 September, as well as lots of other freebies.
Following induction week, teaching will begin on Monday 26 September, for all students following the standard academic calendar. Some courses like Nursing and Midwifery will start earlier.
Students can also find out about joining JMSU sports teams and societies at the Nursing Mini Fair on 6 September and at the JMSU Freshers Fair at the M&S Bank Arena on Friday 30 September.

If you head down to our welcome day, you’ll see the likes of: Free food, Gladiator joust, Archery, Penalty shootout, Outdoor games, Ice cream, crepe stalls, Student tours, Buddy and Give It a Go events and an intro to student services.
All new students will also receive a welcome pack from JMSU and LJMU.

Friday 30th September - Freshers Fair (opens in a new tab)(M&S Bank Arena, 10:30 -5:00pm) JMSU's biggest event of the year is a chance for all students to speak to and join JMSU sports and societies and involved with our volunteering and work experience opportunities.There will be a quiet half an hour for those students who find noise and crowds to be too much.
