Alumni Award 2023/24

Please be advised
The eligibility for this policy will change for 2024/25 academic year as part of the phasing out of this policy.

Students who have graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a degree award are eligible for an Alumni Award. The award takes the form of a 20% fee reduction for any new, taught postgraduate master’s level programmes or research degree programme undertaken. The award will apply the 20% reduction to all years of the programme, not just the first year of study and applies to Home students.

Fees will automatically be reduced for eligible students with no requirement to apply. A student’s eligibility will be assessed from information held by LJMU regarding their prior study declared in their admission application. Students will receive a letter prior to the start of their studies advising them of the fee reduction.

Eligibility

LJMU Alumni Awards will be calculated and applied automatically; students do not need to apply. However, students must meet our specified eligibility criteria:

  • The award can apply to either a taught master's or a research degree programmes
  • Students can be either paying their own fees or be in receipt of sponsorship from a third party (please note exclusions below)
  • The 20% award only applies to new programmes of study commencing in 2016/17 academic year onwards

Please note
The award will only apply to one programme of study therefore students attending more than one eligible programme will have the award applied to the programme with the greater fee value. Students will only receive the award once during their studies. Subsequent further study will not be eligible if a student has already been in receipt of the award. Awards cannot be applied retrospectively.
