Outreach events 2026 to 2027

At LJMU, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to access higher education and outreach events aim to inspire students and support them in making informed decisions about their future.

We offer a range of engaging activities designed to inspire students when it comes to their university options. These include subject taster sessions, campus visits and free residentials. These interactions provide hands-on experiences to help students make the right choice for them.

If you are a teacher or careers advisor and would like to book a session, please complete the form on our Inspiring students to progress webpage.

Higher Education Exhibitions

As well as attending school and college events, LJMU will be represented at higher education exhibitions across the country over the coming months.

These events organised by UCAS and UK University Search provide an opportunity to ask questions to staff about all that LJMU and studying in Liverpool has to offer.

Unifrog events

We have a series of subject webinars and virtual sessions running throughout the year with Unifrog. Keep checking this page to see what’s coming up next. For more information about our subjects in the meantime, visit our course pages.

Is a placement year at university really worth it?

Tuesday 17 November - 4.30pm

Are you wondering whether a placement year is worth the extra year at university? Hear from Liverpool John Moores University students who spent a year working with employers including Disney, Samsung, John West, and Grant Thornton. They'll share their experiences of how they found their placements, what their day-to-day roles involved, and how the experience influenced their final year studies and future career plans. Discover how a placement year can help turn a degree into a career.

Part one of a criminal investigation: can you solve the murder?

Wednesday 25 November - 5.30pm

Join current students and former police officers from Liverpool John Moores University to investigate a fictional murder over two days! In this first session we’ll assess the scene, uncover motives, and identify suspects. Explore the legal system, help us uncover the clues, and find the culprit to solve this case.

Part two of a criminal investigation: can you justify the punishment?

Thursday 26 November - 5.30pm

Join current students and former criminal justice practitioners from Liverpool John Moores University to investigate a fictional murder over two days! In this second session, we’ll look at the punishment of our offender. You’ll learn more about the role the prison system plays in society and think about whether we can morally justify punishment.
