I am currently employed by LJMU as a lecturer on the Professional Qualification in Probation (PQiP). I have held this position since January 2023 .Since completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and gaining qualified Teacher status in 2008, I worked as a high school teacher, where I taught a range of subjects including Sociology, Psychology and Religious studies, mainly at A level. Before qualifying as a teacher and moving into education as a career, I worked as a main grade probation officer for approximately 20 years. During this time I was engaged with work across a number of specialisms within probation including the programmes team delivering community based interventions with registered sex offenders and those convicted of domestic abuse and working on the mother and baby unit at Holloway women's prison.
