Dr Martin Selby

Martin is Principal Lecturer - International Collaborative Programmes at Liverpool Business School. He has previously worked in posts including Associate Head (International), Subject Group Leader, and Curriculum Lead.

Martin has an impressive track record of developing and managing international education in business and management, including collaborative provision / TNE courses, international recruitment, international / intercultural experiences, and international partnerships with high-ranking institutions. Martin has led the academic development and approval of over 40 business and management courses, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has developed international partnerships in countries including China, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, UAE, Oman, Egypt, Ghana, Mexico, USA, and a range a European countries.

Martin has expertise in incorporating international / intercultural experiences into business and management education, developing the intercultural competence of students. He has developed numerous Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) projects, and incorporated international experiences into business and management courses, with large numbers of students participating. This includes short-term mobility such as international volunteering, management games, marketing competitions, and international field trips.

He combines his work in international education with research relating to mobilities. This includes student mobility, the experience of international students, intercultural competence, tourist experience, and place marketing.

Martin is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy / Advance HE (FHEA), a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS), and a member of the British Academy of Management (BAM), and British Association for International and Comparative Education (BAICE). He is also an experienced External Examiner.
