Phil has been full time at Liverpool John Moores since July 2008.
Phil is currently a Recruitment Lead for BSc Pre-Registration Nursing.
Phil is an advocate for Valued Based Recruitment .
It is also the Admissions Recruitment Leads aim to :
1. Participate in institutional widening participation and outreach activities
2. Act as an ambassador for the University in all interactions with current and prospective students, staff, visitors to the University, external partners, media and general public.
3. Continue to develop a working relationship with the Service user/carer group- ensure that this group is represented in recruitment. The Service user/carer group will be involved in the selection and interview process.
4. Respond to key drivers in relation to recruitment and retention of pre-registration students (all fields).
5. Develop simulated events both internally and potentially in schools/colleges.
6. Promote the University’s values of an inclusive and diverse community
7. Offer and develop work experience opportunities
8. To ensure that enquiries from applicants and prospective applicants are dealt with in a timely and informative manner
9.Develop the content and delivery of the Open Days and Applicant Days to maximise potential students are aware of the amazing LJMU student experience and f our fantastic facilities/staff/students.
Phil is also the Academic Lead for the Student Mentoring Service at LJMU- a vital service that offers support and guidance for First Year Student Nurses and the USP in recruitment/promotional events.
Prior to joining the team at LJMU, Phil had a combined post where he was both a Resuscitation Officer at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and a Lecturer Practitioner within the University.
Phil was the Matron on the Regional Vascular Unit at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital from 2003-2006.
Phil is an Immediate Life Support Provider.
