I am an experienced and enthusiastic member of the Mental Health Nursing team with extensive experience in Practice. I joined Liverpool John Moore’s University in 2020 as a Senior lecturer having spent 18 years in various nursing roles in Mental Health Practice, in both the North West and Wales. This includes being the one of the first Advanced Mental Health Practitioners in the Early Intervention Team for Psychosis and going on to manage this team, acute nursing, community nursing for the elderly, I was lucky enough to be part of the first wave of crisis resolution and home treatment teams both in England and Wales. Having spent a few years in various roles I chose to specialise in Psychosis.
I teach on both the pre-registration and post-registration programmes, support the coordination of mental health nursing placements and act as an academic link tutor and personal tutor. I am also experienced in my role as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and have managed large nursing teams. I have been lucky enough to support the design of a number of modules and enjoy being a part of helping the development of the nursing workforce.
Externally i support the development of Advanced Practice Nurse courses and the supervision of Suicide Prevention Services in the local community.
