Bringing together key stakeholders and academics to further research which will improve patient care

On Wednesday 10 July, LJMU will host the inaugural Integrated Care Symposium to bring together key stakeholders in the region and to drive forwards further research that will ultimately help to improve patient care.

The symposium is organised by LJMU’s Centre for Management Development and Innovation, a partnership between Liverpool Business School and Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, in collaboration with the Institute for Health Research.

The event will take place in the university’s Student Life Building from 10am to 2pm with lunch provided for attendees. Symposium tickets can be booked via Ticket Source.

Sharing research and fostering collaborative relationships

Lisa Knight, Head of the Centre for Management Development and Innovation, said: “The symposium will serve as a platform to disseminate findings from three research projects focused on integrated care, exploring mental health care for children and young people, embedding a clinical exercise service into a Primary Care Network, and examining leadership within Integrated Care Systems (ICS). These discussions will highlight our recent work and set the stage for identifying future research opportunities.

“A key objective of the symposium is to foster collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including local government, the NHS, and academic partners. This event represents a unique opportunity to connect with a wide network of professionals and academics, facilitating the co-development of future research initiatives focused on integrated care.

“Together, we aim to strengthen the connectivity of academic and professional networks, showcasing the breadth of integrated care research across various disciplines.”

Keynote speaker Professor Rowan Pritchard-Jones

Professor Pritchard-Jones was appointed Executive Medical Director of the Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care System in July 2022. He is dedicated to system-wide improvements for patients and is determined to break down silo-working practices that act as a barrier to a truly joined-up, holistic approach to healthcare across social, primary, secondary, and tertiary care services. He is also a committed collaborator, passionate about innovative solutions in a post-pandemic NHS.

Interactive sessions and poster presentations

In addition to the keynote address, this symposium will include interactive sessions, and poster presentations, to share current research and best practices.
