First-class support

According to our students, LJMU stands out from the crowd because of the first-class support we offer to postgraduates. As well as access to your Personal Tutor or Supervisor, you will benefit from our excellent study skills workshops, offering assistance with everything from statistics to IT skills. Staff have an open door policy and are available in person, at the end of a phone, or virtually.

Excellent libraries

Both of our libraries are situated in the heart of the city and are open late for all students to use, in addition to our Student Life Building which is open 24 hours a day. They offer access to a wealth of information and boast:

• 2,000 study spaces with designated postgraduate areas, meeting areas for group work and plenty of social spaces
• helpful and friendly academic liaison librarians for each school/faculty
• Wi-Fi access
• networked PCs and access to 2000+ applications
• loan laptops when you need to be out and about
• helpdesks and sessions to introduce the resources and facilities available
• our user-friendly Library Discover search engine to search in excess of 820,000 items including 650,000 printed resources, 129,000 e-Books, 45,000 electronic journal titles, online newspapers, legal databases, company journals, and special collections

Career guidance

We never forget your end goal at LJMU and that’s why an impressive 95% of LJMU postgraduates are in work or further study 15 months after graduation (Graduate Outcomes Survey, 2020). Career support is available 24/7 with our range of digital careers tools. You can even get yourself interview-ready with our interview simulator. For comprehensive advice on selling your higher-level skills you can book an appointment with an Employability Adviser and if you’re not quite sure what the future holds for you, our Careers Zones are the perfect place to head for a chat.

Liverpool has a passion for life and it is infectious. No matter where you come from in the world, the city and its people will welcome you with open arms. Our students tell us they feel very much at home here. They like the fact that the city is so compact, with everything you need within walking distance.
