Update: LJMU Induction Week and Freshers 2022

As the funeral of the Queen is scheduled to take place on Monday 19 September, LJMU has the important updates below regarding Induction Week events and teaching:

Monday 19 September will be a Bank Holiday for all students

This means no teaching will take place on Monday 19 September. Students who have already begun their studies will not have any scheduled classes and new students due to start their induction week will now begin on Tuesday 20 September.

Induction timetables and personal timetables are currently being updated

All student timetables are being amended and classes due to take place on Monday 19 will be rescheduled throughout the rest of induction week, 20-23 September.

Week 1 of teaching, for those following the standard academic timetable, will begin on Monday 26 September. Timetables are expected to be updated by Monday 19 September. Your Programme Leader/Course Tutor may also be in touch regarding the updates.

Freshers and Welcome Events Programme 2022 is now updated

John Moores Students’ Union (JMSU) and LJMU have amended the Freshers 22 Welcome Week Programme here. You can see which events have been rescheduled as well as up to date listings on the JMSU events page.

International Welcome Event will still be going ahead

The LJMU International Welcome Event 2022 will still be going ahead on Thursday 15 & Friday 16 September.

LJMU building opening times

On Monday 19 September, our libraries will open 10am-8pm.

The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 as usual and staff will be available 10am-4pm for students.

JMSU will also be present at the Student Life Building to support students, but their Freshers 2022 programme of activities will be suspended as a mark of respect on this day of national mourning.
