Cecilia is a Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design and Illustration at Liverpool John Moores University.
After completing an MA in Multimedia Arts, Cecilia continued her combined interest in animation and user interaction by designing and coding navigation for various CD Roms, stand alone pieces and websites. Over the years this then evolved into a more specific interest into the communication and interpretation of information through text and image, especially through Typography, semiotics and narrative sequences. She was a founding member of 1990’s typography collective ‘Beaufonts’
She has also worked in a range of design studios and creative agencies including: LMU, ICDC, FACT, Splinter, Uniform, and Neville Brody Research Studios.

Becoming a lecturer in 1998 and she has taught in Liverpool Community College, LJMU, Alghero University, Sardinia, and Camberwell College of Art, London. Since working at LJMU she has curated a range of exhibitions that have showcased the research work by herself and other Liverpool Art and Design School staff.
She has also been the image curator for the publication ‘Left to Right’ and all four editions of the visual language theory books ‘Visible Signs’ by Professor David Crow.
