Nursing and Advanced Practice

Faculty of Health

As a Senior Lecturer in Advanced Practice and an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) specializing in cardiology, I combine extensive clinical and academic expertise to advance cardiac care and diagnostics. I currently teach cardiac care and clinical diagnostics modules, equipping healthcare professionals with essential skills for high-quality, evidence-based care. My previous role as an ACP involved leading comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for cardiac patients, including medication management, pre- and post-procedural care, and multidisciplinary coordination. I have also driven service improvement through developing clinical pathways for effective patient discharge and leading quality audits to ensure transparency and harm-free care.
With a background in intensive care and non-medical prescribing, further strengthened by a master’s in advanced practice (Clinical) and advanced diagnostics training, I am deeply committed to cardiology. My teaching is informed by structured programs for ACPs, along with simulation and virtual learning reflected in the modules that I teach. I will be completing PgCert in Education and will attain the FHEA after this. As a member of the Liverpool Cardiovascular Society, I stay actively engaged in the latest developments within the field. Through my combined roles in clinical practice, teaching, and research, I aim to promote research in underserved communities with special focus on women from south Asian communities. I am interested in championing EDI and am part of the Athena Swan Charter group clearly demonstrating a strong vision for equitable delivery of teaching and assessment in advanced practice.
