Cath is a researcher at the Centre for Public Health. She has a background in nursing, working primarily on surgical and Accident and Emergency wards, and has 15 years’ research experience prior to joining the centre. She has worked on several Randomised Controlled Trials, including a national trial of chest pain units within Accident and Emergency Departments, and a trial looking at psychological adjustment to breast cancer. Her most recent projects have included looking at gambling across the Liverpool City Region, as well as needs assessments of both adult offenders and young offenders across the Liverpool City Region, both of which included in-depth interviews both with staff and with offenders in prison and community settings, as well as collection of a wide range of quantitative data. Cath now works on a wide variety of projects for Merseyside and Cheshire Directors of Public Health.
