Laura completed her undergraduate degree BSc (hons) Applied Psychology and MSc Health Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University. Upon completion she took up a Research Assistant post and shortly after secured a LJMU PhD scholarship, funded through the Faculty of Health, under the supervision of Professor Francis McGlone, Assoc Professor Susannah Walker and Dr David Moore.
Laura also works as a teaching assistant supporting undergraduate students on statistics module.
Her PhD is investigating the role of a population of gentle touch sensitive cutaneous nerves, c-tactile afferents, on infant brain development.
Her research is focused on affective touch, infant development, and pregnancy.
