I am a geneticist with a primary interest in pathogens and their vectors. My research applies bioinformatics and next-generation sequencing (NGS) techniques to study evolutionary genomics and gene expression in these organisms.

My research focuses on the following areas:

- The genomics of phlebotomine sand flies, the insect vectors of Leishmania parasites
- The population genomics of insecticide resistance in anopheline mosquitoes, the insect vectors of malaria
- The population and evolutionary genomics of Plasmodium malaria parasites
- The population and evolutionary genomics of Entamoeba histolytica, the causative agent of amoebic dysentery, and related Entamoeba parasites
- Metagenomics and metatranscriptomics of the microbiota and the effects on their host

Enquiries to work in my lab in one of these areas are welcome.
