PhD project title: An integrative approach to understanding conflict management in a highly social vertebrate.

Primary aims of the projects: Within the course of my PhD, I am performing experiments to understand the behavioural, developmental, and neurophysiological underpinnings of sociality in the cooperatively breeding Daffodil cichlids, Neolamprologus pulcher. Specifically, my PhD project is investigating the phenotypic expression of conflict management behaviours in N. pulcher, the role of vasotocin in modulating those behaviours, and the importance of early life experiences in organising adult social behaviour and its neurohormonal substrates.

Supervisors: Dr. Adam Reddon, Dr. Will Swaney, and Dr. Hazel Nichols.
