Join a Society

Comedy, law, feminist, gaming – no matter what your passion we're sure one of John Moores Students’ Union societies will cater to your particular pastime.

What societies can I get involved in?

There is a huge range of academic, social, charitable, political and cultural societies you can join. Take a look at the JMSU website for a complete list of current societies at LJMU. If you can't find one that meets your interests, you can set up your own society or club – you'll be surprised how many others share your enthusiasm.

Why should I join a society?

Joining a society enriches your university experience. You’ll meet like-minded people, nurture your interests, learn new skills and make new friends. Taking part in extracurricular activities could also help you figure out what you’d like to do when you graduate.

Being an active society member will make you more employable – not only will it bolster your CV, but it can also equip you with the skills employers are looking for, such as leadership, negotiation and the ability to use your initiative. Plus it's a conversation diversion you'll be thankful for during a job interview.
