International student support
At Liverpool John Moores University, we have a dedicated International Student Advice team within Student Advice and Wellbeing Services.
The International Student Advisers can provide advice and information to international LJMU students (including students from Europe) on a wide range of issues relating to visas, immigration and rights in the UK including:
- Study visas
- Dependants – bringing your family to the UK
- Working in the UK
- Rights for European students after Brexit: the EU Settlement Scheme
- General visa and immigration matters which may impact on your studies
The International Student Advisers offer information and advice to current LJMU students, applicants with an LJMU student number and recent LJMU graduates in line with the International Student Advice team, download our Conditions of Service document.

Our International Student Drop runs every Tuesday and Thursday 10am-4pm in the Student Life Building on the Ground Floor.
Alternatively you can book an in person appointment at either Aldham or Avril Robarts Library or remote via Teams or telephone via our appointment booking system.

Personal support
Although we’re confident you’ll enjoy your time at LJMU, we know you may sometimes need additional support – especially if you feel homesick. That’s why during your time with us you can access support from our Student Wellbeing Advisers who are based in your Faculty. To find out more, see our Student Wellbeing team pages.
Check out the JMSU website where you'll find a range of societies and clubs, including the International Student Society which is particularly popular with international students. Joining this group will give you a chance to meet people from all over the world, learn about other cultures and explore Liverpool with some really friendly people.
