Empowerment for innovation
This programme seeks to develop self-efficacy, use the power of the network to test and challenge ideas, provide safe space to develop and time to reflect and share innovation. Leaders can often see the powerful drivers for change, but they may identify barriers to their own development and to implementation of projects such as time, space, isolation from others in their own situation or the courage of their convictions. Feedback tells us that innovation can be piecemeal and sharing experiences could allow projects to scale up more effectively. A particular area for focus is on IT and technology for growth.
Workforce planning and talent development
Leaders tell us that their eyes have been opened to the opportunities they have to affect workforce planning and talent development through our programmes. They highly appreciated the opportunity to look at tools and techniques in their own context. They told us that they valued the focus on their role and looking across the organisation at what others are doing in this area to recruit and retain the best.
Remote leadership
Highly relevant today, leaders want to know how to get the most out of their teams when people are hybrid or remote working. The topic also brings in issues associated with working remotely from others in similar posts to their own position across organisational boundaries.
Sustainability and corporate reporting
Addressing sustainability challenges is crucial in all sectors. LBS can provide guidance and assistance in developing sustainable awareness, including waste reduction strategies, energy efficiency measures, and environmentally responsible procurement policies and the impact on customers.
Risk and safety cultures
Creating a culture of risk management and safety is paramount in any organisation. LBS can support you in developing comprehensive risk management frameworks, conducting risk assessments and implementing safety protocols to ensure the well-being of the workforce and customers.
Decision making in a matrix
Linked to remote leadership is the concept of how decision-making works best in a distributed organisation with clinical and line management roles, budgetary responsibilities and options for growth which at times appear to be at odds with each other.
Soft systems thinking
Soft skills like analytical thinking will be key for the jobs of tomorrow, according to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs report.
We are living in VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) times and as innovators, and professionals, everything we do is more interdependent. How often do we understand the interconnectedness of everything around us and why is that important to the way we lead and work? This is a conversation that brings together individuals and groups to discuss why it matters and how it works.
Automation, data analytics and AI
Leveraging data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) can significantly enhance delivery, decision-making, and customer outcomes. Experts in data science and AI from across the University can develop customised solutions which unlock the potential of data assets and drive innovation.
Women in leadership
Promoting gender diversity and empowering women in leadership roles is a key driver of organisational success. LBS offer specialised training programmes and coaching services which aim to develop and nurture female leaders, equipping them with the skills, confidence, and support needed to excel in their careers.
Making strategy
Leaders understand the role and importance of strategy, but when it actually comes to capturing and communicating a strategy there is more to learn. What is the best way to identify it, how do you get buy in, does it align with corporate strategy, what resources can you get to deliver it? LBS also offer business clinics to match leaders with a facilitator and student to develop strategies which work.
Finance and budgeting
Practically oriented this event is about being confident to manage and lead in the realms of finance and budgeting, to get buy in from stakeholders and develop confidence in the mechanisms required within Circle. Crucially it is also looking out at some of the features in other large, distributed organisations.
Marketing – diversification and channels
Growth is largely delivered by knowing customers as well as we can. It is about generating accurate data and using that to support decisions about diversification and channels for marketing. This underpins many growth strategies and is something leaders want to get to grips with.
Adding social value
We believe that organisations have a responsibility to contribute positively to society. Our University team can help you identify and implement initiatives that add social value, whether through community engagement programmes, corporate social responsibility strategies, or ethical business practices.
Equality, diversity and inclusion
Equality, diversity and inclusion have become increasingly important in the workplace, with organisations recognising the value of creating a diverse and inclusive culture. It is important that organisations go above and beyond simply following the law and are pro-active i.e. moving beyond compliance. However, many leaders lack the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
