Our expertise includes outdoor leadership, environmental education and expeditions.
The Outdoor Education Research Group work with a range of outdoor-related organisations and professional bodies and regularly publish outdoor-related books, research papers and articles, sit on the editorial boards of key academic journals (e.g. Journal of Adventure Education and Outdoor Learning) and present at national and international conferences.

Projects and collaborations
We are actively involved in international outdoor committees and in developing international collaborative research partnerships, for example with Penn State University in the USA. We also work with the Institute for Outdoor Learning, British Mountaineering Council, British Canoeing, Mountain Training England, HF Holidays, British Exploring Society, World Challenge Expeditions, Outward Bound Oman (through Connecting Cultures Programme) and the International Atomic Energy Agency. We also work at the Plynlimon Research Catchments (Centre for Ecology and Hydrology).
