UK-MUC activities
The universities in the Consortium will benefit from the following:
- Opportunities for staff/student exchanges between partnering universities
- Research networks in areas of mutual interest between UK and Malaysian universities
- Joint programmes at bachelors, masters and PhD levels
- Recruitment networks that develop strategic plans to engage with the fast-growing international educational market at different levels
- Attracting and nurturing both undergraduates and postgraduates with ability from a wide range of backgrounds. Sharing best practice in teaching, research and knowledge exchange
- Knowledge transfer for impact generation from UK higher education via the Malaysian collaborating universities to the Malaysian industry and public sectors
- Formulation of teaching, learning and research collaboration for funding opportunities from sources such as the EU, charities, WLO and UN
Consortium activities
The activities in the consortium include:
Building a mechanism to increase commitment and strategic partnerships to address shared priorities between universities in the UK and Malaysia
- Strategic partnerships in teaching and learning, research and innovation as well as staff/student mobility and employability
- Strategy for resource-sharing - training resources, digital resources, etc
- University-industry partnerships – sharing of best practice activities
- Curriculum development and teaching innovation – Best practices in curriculum development, innovative delivery, blended learning, application-driven materials, interactive materials, knowledge retention and digitalisation of module delivery
Supporting the advancement of quality teaching, learning, research and university systems through people development with shared expertise between the UK and Malaysia
- PhD programmes - Partnership-based Doctoral Training Programmes via internal and external funding streams, dual PhD programmes, joint PhD programmes
- Bachelors and Masters programmes – between collaborative institutions, mutually accepted modules for student exchanges, joint courses such as two years in one institution and two years in the other for a degree programme
- Networks – clusters to formulate networks in areas of mutual interest, funding to support their operations from sources such as EU
- Teaching methods, delivery and digitalisation – Blended learning, digitalisation, problem-based learning and project-based learning, etc
Identifying and facilitate innovative UK-Malaysia collaborative programmes and knowledge exchange in higher education for mutual benefit and HE internationalisation
