How to apply for study abroad
- Research your opportunities or attend promotional sessions (see event calendar for actual or virtual sessions).
- Check where and when you can study abroad on the My LJMU Global Opportunities Portal.
- Attend a pre departure session either virtually or face to face. Check out the schedule in the events calendar.
- Research your opportunities or attend promotional sessions or on the LJMU portal.
- Register your interest to study at up to three different partners on the My LJMU Global Opportunities Portal.
- Your International Mobility Coordinator will review your preferences, which will need to be approved in order to progress to application. Some IMC's may wish to discuss the matter with you, while others will speak with your Programme Leader.
- Once you receive approval from the IMC you will be given access to the application form in the My LJMU Global Opportunities Portal.
- Submit your application by the deadline of 16 February 2025 at 11.59pm via My LJMU Global Opportunities Portal.
- If successful global opportunities will contact you with a formal offer which you must accept or reject by 28 February 2025.
- Any places that have been turned down by students will be reallocated appropriately to other students.
- Once you have accepted your placement LJMU will submit your nomination to your host.
- You must attend all LJMU compulsory pre departure sessions.
- Complete the hosts' registration process, this will be sent by your host university.
- If available for 2025-26 then complete all the Turing Scheme Funding associated documentation. The UK government will confirm funding in early summer 2025.
- You will be nominated to your host by LJMU and they will contact you to complete all their Registration requirements.
- Apply and secure a visa via your hosts Consulate.
- Book your travel and organise accommodation.
- Go abroad!
