Tuition fee status
Learn more about your fee status and which tuition fees are relevant to you.
The tuition fees you are charged and any financial support you are eligible for depends on whether you are classed as a home or international student. The university assesses your fee status using legislation laid down by the UK Government.
Home fees
Applicants that ordinarily live in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Jersey, Isle of Man, Guernsey, Alderney and Gibraltar; and have been a resident there (or elsewhere in the UK and Islands) for the last three years, will normally be classified as home students for fee purposes.
If you are an EU/EEA student and you started your course in 2020/21 or earlier:
- Existing rules around financial support and home fees will still apply
- This means you will retain your fee status as long as you remain on the same course of study
- Further Information is on the Government Website
International fees
Following the end of the UK’s transition period on 31 December 2020, if you are a EU, EEA or Swiss national student starting a course in the academic year 2021/22, you will become subject to international fees.
In addition, you will need to apply for a Student Visa prior to arrival to study at LJMU.
