LJMU 2nd in 'Uni Compare Top 100' for second year running

97% would recommend LJMU

Liverpool John Moores University has placed second in the Uni Compare Top 100 University Rankings for the second consecutive year.  

The 2026 rankings use real student reviews data, pairing category ratings with written reviews to give a thorough picture of what students' views are. 

Using reviews from both current and recent graduates, 97% said they would recommend studying at LJMU. 

Top 10 for Employability, Course Quality, Accommodation and Student Life 

Not only did LJMU place second in the 2026 overall ranking, the university also ranked in the top 10 for several other categories, including:

• 2nd for Accommodation
• 3rd for Student Life
• 6th for Employability
• 7th for Course Quality 

Uni Compare Top 100 University Rankings 2026

The rankings saw LJMU score the highest in the North West with other universities in the region also making the top five, as below:

• Middlesex University
• Liverpool John Moores University
• Nottingham Trent University
• Edge Hill University
• University of Liverpool
