Apply to study abroad in 2026/27
LJMU has more than 75 partner universities in 30 countries across the globe where our current students can apply to study abroad. From Europe to Australia and Japan, or Canada to Morocco, students can choose to study abroad for one semester or a full year.
When you can study abroad
Registration is now open for current students to apply to study abroad.
The international experience will be formally recognised as part of your degree, adding significant value to your personal and professional growth.
Current Level 4 students can apply for a semester abroad which will be taken in their second semester of Level 5. Current Level 5 students can apply for a year abroad, to be taken in between Level 5 and 6, as a sandwich/placement year.
How to apply to study abroad
Students must register to study abroad via their Global Opportunities Portal on MyLJMU by the deadline on 28 January 23:59pm. You can register your interest for up to three locations. Students will then find out if their entry has been approved/declined.
Those with approval must then submit a full application by the deadline on 15 February 23.59pm.
Remember, when and where you can go depends on your course, find out more details via your portal.
