Improving your Mount Pleasant Campus Library
Over the next academic year, we are investing in major improvements to our library spaces.
From November 2026, refurbishments will begin on the Mount Pleasant Campus Library and during this time a temporary library will open in the Pavilion. The Pavilion is located just next door and can be accessed through the Pavilion cafe.
What services, resources and study spaces will be available at The Pavilion Library?
The Pavilion will still have key print texts relating to semester two teaching, a staffed enquiry desk, study spaces, click and collect book service, loan laptops and printing facilities.
The Academic Success team will also continue to offer a range of classes, drop-ins, and appointments to support students with searching and referencing library materials, and developing maths and statistics skills, and academic writing skills.
Access to the LJMU Library's digital collection of more than 690,000 e-books will also continue.
Quiet study spaces will still be available in the Pavilion Library and at City Campus Library.
Where can I get a loan laptop from?
Loan laptops will be available at the temporary Pavilion Library and across campus, with lockers at the Student Life Building, City Campus Library, John Lennon Building, Redmonds Building, Byrom Street and City Square.
