National Teaching Fellowship awarded to Professor Track Dinning
LJMU’s Professor Track Dinning, Head of Teaching, Learning & Academic Programmes at Liverpool Business School (LBS), has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to excellent teaching in higher education with a National Teaching Fellowship.
“I am absolutely delighted to receive this recognition,” said Professor Track Dinning.
It is particularly meaningful because it comes from external peers who value the impact of my work. It reflects not only my own journey, but also the incredible colleagues, students and partners I have had the privilege to work with. After many years championing entrepreneurship and experiential education, this recognition is both humbling and immensely rewarding.

Professor Dinning was nominated for her innovation in teaching, embedding entrepreneurial thinking into the curriculum at LJMU and fostering links between higher education, businesses and society through student-led business consultancy.
Advance HE’s National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS) remains one of the UK's highest honours for individuals in higher education, recognising educators who have demonstrated sustained excellence and made outstanding contributions to enhancing the student learning experience. It also acknowledges how the individual supports colleagues and champions student learning beyond their immediate academic or professional role. Professor Dinning is one of 55 people to be given a fellowship in the 2026 awards.
About Professor Track Dinning
As part of Liverpool Business School’s senior leadership team, Professor Dinning leads on teaching enhancement, academic programmes, and the student experience across a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and international collaborative programmes.
The impact of her work at LJMU spans more than two decades. Her career has been defined by a commitment to enterprise education, employability, and student-led practice, embedding entrepreneurial thinking into the curriculum and fostering strong connections between students, business, and communities. Collaboration is at the heart of Professor Dinning’s leadership approach, and she has consistently fostered a culture of experimentation and shared learning. She is also committed to nurturing the talent of colleagues through a range of initiatives such as forums, writing days and research groups.
Professor Dinning led the development of the Liverpool Business Clinic, which provides students with real-world consultancy opportunities and authentic assessments. The clinic played a major role in the university being awarded Times Higher Education Business School of the Year 2025 and is estimated to bring more than £500,000 in social value to the Liverpool City Region community. Working with partners in Dubai and Malaysia, the school has also established business clinics internationally, extending the model of practice-based learning and strengthening global student engagement.
Professor Dinning demonstrates sustained and strategic educational leadership across multiple roles, amplifying excellence beyond the institution. She actively raises the profile of teaching excellence through mentoring and work as a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE). Her international work spans Dubai, China, Malaysia, South Africa, and, more recently, Tunisia, where she now focuses on leading enterprise education initiatives and building global networks to share best practice in experiential learning. This year, she was invited to serve on the UK–Tunisian Higher Education and Scientific Research Commission.
In 2024, Professor Dinning was awarded Principal Fellowship of Advance HE, having already achieved recognition as a Certified Management and Business Educator. In the same year, she was appointed to the Board of the National Centre for Entrepreneurship Education, where she promotes entrepreneurial leadership in the sector at a national and international level. In August 2025, she was conferred the title of Professor of Entrepreneurship Education, recognising her sustained leadership, innovation in teaching, and commitment to building meaningful links between higher education, business, and society.
