River Flow 2024

The 12th International Conference on Fluvial Hydraulics

The conference will be held Monday 2 to Friday 6 September 2024 in Liverpool, UK.

Registration

Due to logistical reasons, the registration desk will only be available at the Student Life Building, where we will have the parallel session.

To facilitate the registration process, we would kindly ask all the delegates to please register at the Student Life Building before going to the Redmonds Building for the Opening at 8.40am.

The desk will be open from 8am on Tuesday 3 September.

River Flow 2024 App is available by downloading the Conf.App and following the River Flow 2024 event link from your mobile device.

Presentation submissions

You can find guidance and the presentation template on the Programme page.

Organized since 2002 under the auspices of the Fluvial Hydraulics Committee of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), the River Flow Conference Series has become one of the main international forum for dissemination of research and industrial practice on fluvial hydraulics and river engineering.

River Flow 2024 will give you with the unique opportunity to present and interact with the latest experimental, theoretical and computational findings on fundamental river flow and transport processes, river morphology and morphodynamics.

The conference will as well cover issues related, but not limited to:

  1. River morphodynamics and management
  2. Hydraulic structures and impacts on local and catchment sediment transport, flow regime and ecology
  3. Sediment, pollutant and microplastic dynamics in rivers
  4. Fluid Mechanics, numerical modelling and two-phase flow
  5. Climate change and adaptation
  6. Monitoring techniques and AI
  7. Natural Flood Management, vegetation, wood and river restoration

Following on the tradition and success of previous editions of River Flow conferences, River Flow 2024 will feature a day devoted to Master Classes for young researchers, daily keynote lectures, ample time for the presentation and discussion of accepted contributions (full papers and extended abstracts), and the presentation of the Stephen E. Coleman Award distinguishing the best paper first authored by a young researcher.

As per the conference tradition we will also announce the award for the Best Paper and Best Reviewer for the International Journal of River Basin Management (JRBM) and the Stephen E. Coleman Best Paper Award for the best paper submitted to the River Flow Conference Series first authored by a young researcher.

The website will provide the main information needed regarding registration, abstract submission and key dates, so stay tuned. We are all look forward to meeting to in Liverpool.
