LJMU Sport Science ranked 15th in the world
Sport and Exercise Science at Liverpool John Moores University is in the top 15 in the world in a new global ranking.
The QS World Rankings identify the best universities for each subject based on quality indicators.
LJMU is bettered globally only by the top US and Australian departments and by Loughborough and Bath in the UK.
And it is markedly improved, rising from 50th in 2017 to 15th in 2021 in the annual survey.
Research-led curriculum
“15th out of the 120 best universities ranked is a really significant achievement,” said Professor Dave Richardson, Director of the Sport and Exercise Science team at LJMU.
“The School is recognised as a world-leading department where students are exposed to an innovative, research-led and applied curriculum. Our staff are extremely friendly, supportive and totally committed to their students.”
This summer LJMU opens a brand new ‘sport building’ Copperas Hill (above) which features an eight court sports hall to Sport England specifications, featuring basketball, badminton, five-a-side, volleyball, netball, futsal, handball and two multi-purpose sports halls. There is also a gym over two floors which includes 120 workstations
The School is also about to launch a unique Women's Football Network to support and encourage more women professionals in the football industry.
