World Mental Health Day 2022
Monday 10 October is World Mental Health Day 2022 and this year’s theme is to 'Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority'.
At LJMU we are committed to providing a holistic package of services and resources to support your wellbeing.
To mark the event, the following will be taking place:
Five-minute breaktime reset sessions (on MS Teams)
A guided meditation designed for computer based staff to listen along to. Take a moment or three to reset the mind and body. These sessions will be run on MS Teams at the following times;

Safe place for those affected by suicide – 11am-12.30pm, Exchange Station Room 5&6.
This open session is an opportunity for staff who have been affected by suicide to come together and discuss their thoughts and feelings in a safe place. In attendance will be staff from the Mental Health Team in the Faculty of Health. Book here.
Mental Health Society Pop-up – all day, Tithebarn Street canteen.
The Mental Health Society will have a full day of activities available, stop by the staff stall to find out about the role of the LJMU Connectors and the wider wellbeing offering at LJMU.
LJMU Connectors
Our LJMU Connectors are on hand to provide peer support. Contact any one of them if you would like to talk to someone about your mental health and the resources and services that are available.
Online Mental Health Support
You can access our telephone EAP service and a range of mental health support such as SilverCloud and Togetherall, via our Wellbeing Hub.
Staff events
Keep an eye out for news of upcoming events and activities, from crafts to gardening, heritage walks to running, covering all aspects of health and wellbeing. There will be something for everyone - check out the staff events page.
Meanwhile, Student Advice and Wellbeing is offering staff and students a range of events to help mental wellbeing this semester.
There are writing for wellbeing workshops, mindfulness events and reading for wellbeing discussions with guests - they include former LJMU drama student, Vicky Pattison, discussing her book The Secret to Happy and neurodivergent author and comedian, Joe Wells, discussing Wired Differently.
