Academic Board election results 2023

A host of representatives from our faculties, along with professional services, have been elected to the Academic Board following a series of elections that took place over the past fortnight.

The elected candidates will serve for a period of three years and will attend the next Academic Board meeting on Wednesday 27 September 2023.

Michael Thompson, Clerk to the Board of Governors, said: “This election has been a great opportunity for colleagues across the university to engage with the democratic process and it was fantastic to see so many members of staff express an interest in standing.

“Although we would have hoped for a much higher turnout, we still had a significant number of staff engage in the election and hundreds of votes were cast. The new Academic Board members will now work strategically with other members of the Academic Board in overseeing the planning, co-ordination, development and supervision of the academic work of the university.”

The following new members have also been appointed to the Academic Board. No elections were required as the number of candidates who applied did not exceed the number of vacant positions.
