LJMU launches Sponsorship Programme for Ethnically Diverse Staff

LJMU Launches Diverse Futures: LJMU Sponsorship Programme 2025 for Ethnically Diverse Staff

LJMU’s Diversity and Inclusion Team is excited to announce the launch of Diverse Futures: LJMU Sponsorship Programme designed to pair ethnically diverse staff with senior leaders and managers. This initiative aims to break down barriers to career advancement and create a structured framework for professional growth.

Why Sponsorship Matters:

Ethnically diverse staff often face challenges in reaching senior positions due to limited access to key workplace networks. This programme offers a unique opportunity for senior leaders and managers to act as sponsors, advocating for talented individuals by showcasing their potential and opening doors to new career opportunities. In return, sponsors benefit from developing more inclusive leadership skills through hands-on experience.

Join the programme as a Sponsor or Sponsee

This programme offers senior leaders the chance to champion the next generation of diverse talent at LJMU, while ethnically diverse staff will gain vital support in achieving their career goals. The programme is a core part of LJMU’s commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion, helping underrepresented communities thrive.

Key Benefits:

  • Sponsored individuals report greater job satisfaction and confidence in pursuing new roles.
  • Sponsors will grow as inclusive leaders, learning from the perspectives of their sponsees.

Get Involved

The programme kicks off in January 2025 and we are now seeking both senior leaders and managers to serve as sponsors and ethnically diverse staff to be sponsees. If you're passionate about career growth and diversity, this is your chance to make an impact.
