LJMU appoints new Finance Director

Rob Molloy has been appointed as the university’s new Finance Director.

Rob began his financial career in the NHS at Clatterbridge Hospital and gained his professional qualifications from LJMU.

Having worked in the private sector for organisations such as Glaxo, Tate & Lyle and Whitbread, he moved to Capita working for 10 years as a Finance Director on some of their big public sector partnerships including the CRB and pensions auto enrolment.

His last role in Capita was on an education joint venture providing support services to 500 schools which made him realise that he wanted to focus on the education sector. 

Rob moved to St Helens College, eventually becoming Deputy Chief Executive after they merged with Knowsley College, and then moved to UCLan as Director of Finance Operations.

He came to LJMU as Deputy Director of Finance and has been Interim Finance Director since May 2024.
