Congratulations to our graduates in Malaysia!

Warm congratulations to our LJMU graduates in Malaysia at our partner institution YPC International College in Kuala Lumpur.

Several hundred graduated on Friday 1 August in Business, Management, Finance and Computing courses accredited by Liverpool John Moores University.

The happy occasion was particularly special as it marked a milestone in our shared journey — the 20th anniversary of the partnership between LJMU and YPC International.

As family and friends gathered, LJMU representatives spoke of both personal achievements and institutional friendship. Professor Keith George, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange, stated: “Your achievements in receiving your awards today – and the notable things I know you will go on to achieve – are testament to the strength of this partnership.

“The university crest which is on your certificate and on your formal academic robes carries with it an inscription in Latin. Transcribed, it reads fortune favours the brave.

“You have all been brave in pursuing your studies with great passion and enthusiasm and realising the ambitions that brought you here today.  I would encourage you to carry on with the same sense of purpose in whatever path you now choose to follow.”

And Dr Julia Wang, the Director of International Relations, paid tribute to the British-Malaysian partners: “Twenty years ago, two institutions — one in the heart of Liverpool and the other here in Kuala Lumpur — came together with a shared vision: to provide world-class education that transcends geographical borders, nurtures ambition and transforms lives.

“What started as a modest partnership has grown into a deeply integrated academic relationship — one that has empowered thousands of students, fostered innovation in teaching, and enriched both our institutions.

“Over these two decades, LJMU and YPC have worked hand in hand to develop programmes that are globally relevant yet locally grounded. We have jointly delivered UK degree qualifications here in Malaysia, giving students access to international standards of higher education while remaining connected to their communities and families.”

Congratulations once again to the Class of 2025.
