Free wellbeing activities this Feel Fab Feb



From free gym classes, nature walks, art and crafts, plus freebies across campus, LJMU has a month’s worth of free events for all our students and staff to get involved in this Feel Fab Feb. 

Feel Fab Feb activities 

We want all our students and staff to thrive, maintain their health and wellbeing and be aware of the support on hand. That’s why every February we shine a spotlight on the importance of wellbeing with a month’s worth of free events and activities for all our students and staff to get involved in.  

We're kickstarting the month with Sustainability Week. Our climate and sustainability team has a week’s worth of events, from 2 to 6 February, including nature walks, sustainable cooking classes and a repair cafe for all students and staff to sign up to.

LJMU Move - free fitness classes

Each week throughout the month, LJMU Move is giving you free access to gym classes in the LJMU Sport Building for all our students and staff.  

To sign up, simply download the LJMU Move app. From Yoga, to Badminton, Bodyweights and Pilates Pump, there’s a range of free classes for all abilities.  

As part of Feel Fab Feb, students and staff also have free access to off-peak swimming at the University of Liverpool, no membership is required, you just need to show your LJMU ID card on arrival.  

Staff Engagement and Wellbeing  

Staff have a wealth of activities they can sign up for, from singing with the Shanty Choir to yoga and craft sessions.

Further events this month 

Join the LJMU Cancer Support Ambassadors for their Cancer Cafe event this February on campus. LJMU Sport and Exercise Student Kai Philpott, who is also a member of the Youth Advisory Group at the Teenage Cancer Trust will be giving a talk. The event is open to all students, staff and those who have been affected by cancer. Register for the Cancer Cafe event.

Wellbeing resources for students

For students, our Student Support pages outline who to speak to if you’re struggling with any part of student life plus how to report concerns and incidents using our Report and Support tool. (opens in a new tab) There is a range of support from wellbeing to financial, mental health to accommodation.  

Wellbeing resources for staff 

All staff across the university are encouraged by the University Leadership Team to take part in wellbeing activities and prioritise your own health and wellbeing.    

If you’re struggling with your wellbeing, we have a wealth of resources via our Staff Wellbeing Hub. You’ll find a range of internal and external support, guidance, self-help literature, advice and tips to help you look after your mental health and wellbeing plus further information on our Employee Assistance Programme, our 24/7, 365 days a year support line, where you can speak to a trained counsellor.

LJMU has been programme members of the University Mental Health Charter since 2021, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our students and staff.
