New way to report lost and found items via LJMU Assist

Staff and students can now report lost and found items within just a few clicks on LJMU Assist, our online helpdesk.

The new function aims to improve the recovery of lost items, reduce unclaimed belongings, and provide a more efficient and user-friendly process for our campus community as you can track the progress of your lost or found reports.

How to report lost and found items

Go to LJMU Assist and click on Requests and Issues. Then navigate to and click on Facilities and Campus where you will find a series of forms including one called Lost Property.

You can select whether you are reporting a lost or a found item and provide details about the item including where and when it was lost or found. You can also upload images.

Your request is then logged and if you click on My Tickets on the LJMU Assist homepage you can track the progress of your report.

Take part in our treasure hunt this March to get to know the new system and win a £5 Core Café voucher

To help you get familiar with the new lost and found reporting system, you are invited to take part in our campus treasure hunt, running from Monday 23 to Wednesday 25 March.

Clearly labelled ‘lost’ items will be placed in key locations and students and staff will be invited to scan a QR code attached to each item and log it on LJMU Assist.

After you’ve submitted your report, you should visit the building’s reception desk where a member of staff will confirm you’ve reported the item correctly and give you your £5 Core Café voucher. There will be 10 vouchers a day up for grabs.

We hope that this hands-on approach will allow you to quickly understand how the platform works and how it can support you if you lose or find an item in the future.
