In Memoriam: Karen Cottington

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of our colleague, Karen Cottington.

Karen worked as a Domestic Assistant within the Campus Services team at Copperas Hill and was a familiar and much-valued presence to all who worked in the Student Life Building and Sport Building.

Karen is remembered for "her warm, infectious smile and friendly nature which brightened the days of colleagues, students and visitors alike, and her loss leaves a huge void within the team and wider LJMU community."

"Karen was a proud and devoted mum who cared deeply for those around her. She will be remembered not only for her dedication and hard work, but also for the kindness, warmth, and positivity she brought to everyone she met.

"Our heartfelt condolences are with Karen’s daughter, Londie, who is also a valued member of the LJMU family, her son Dean, her partner Chris, and all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed by all at Liverpool John Moores University."

Funeral details

Karen’s funeral will take place at Green Acres Rainford Park, Blindfoot Road,  Rainford, WA11 7HX  on Tuesday 2 June at 12pm.
