Vevox Is Getting a Fresh Look: And a Bigger Vision

If you've been using Vevox for a while, you'll know it started life as a live polling tool. But over the last couple of years, and particularly with the updates landing in 2026, it's been quietly evolving into something more ambitious. A single platform from which you can run your entire session, without ever needing to leave.

The upcoming UI refresh, rolling out on Sunday 7th June, continues this journey.

A New Name That Tells the Story

The most telling change in this update isn't visual, it's a rename. The Polls page is becoming the Presentation page. That single word swap says a lot. Vevox is acknowledging what many users have already discovered: this space has grown well beyond polling. Slides, timers, matching activities, quizzes, it's all here now, and the interface is being reorganised to reflect that reality.

Similarly, the Survey section is being renamed Self-paced, better describing how participants actually engage with that content — working through quizzes or opinion surveys at their own speed, separately from the live interaction happening in the Presentation area.

One Platform, One Screen

Cast your mind back to the March 2026 update, which introduced the ability to embed PowerPoint Online presentations directly into Vevox's Present View. Combined with Quick Polls, Matching questions, countdown timers, and AI-generated quizzes, you now have everything you need to run a complete session from within a single online interface.

For staff who currently manage a juggling act between PowerPoint and Vevox during live sessions, this is worth paying attention to. The workflow can now look something like this:

  • Load your embedded PowerPoint slides into Vevox
  • Intersperse them with polls, quizzes, and matching activities
  • Use countdown timers to manage breakout activities
  • Launch a quick ad-hoc poll when a question emerges from the room
  • Keep everything visible and manageable from the Presentation page

No switching between tabs. No losing your place. One screen, one session.

What the Redesign Actually Changes

The refresh itself is designed to be familiar rather than disruptive. The look will feel cleaner and more modern, but the core workflows remain the same. Key improvements include:

  • Faster content creation with fewer clicks
  • Better content preview in the Presentation area, so you can see what your audience will see before you go live
  • Improved accessibility and clearer controls for running sessions

The Q&A, Self-paced, and Data sections are largely unchanged for now, with similar incremental updates planned for those areas in future releases.

When Is This Happening?

The update rolls out automatically on Sunday 7th June from 6am UTC. There's nothing you need to do — just log in and start exploring. Support resources will be available at help.vevox.com and the support team can be reached at support@vevox.com.

The Bigger Picture

Tools like Mentimeter have long offered a tightly integrated slide-and-interaction experience. Vevox, with its stronger roots in education and enterprise, has historically sat alongside PowerPoint rather than replacing it. That's changing. The combination of embedded presentations, a redesigned Presentation hub, and a growing suite of content types suggests Vevox is making a deliberate move toward becoming the primary environment for running a session and not just a polling layer on top of one.

It's not fully there yet, and the PowerPoint embedding is still relatively early-stage. But the direction is clear. For staff who want to simplify their setup and reduce the friction of switching between tools during a live session, now is a good time to start exploring what Vevox can do on its own.
