Accommodation for exchange and study abroad students
Liverpool has a wide range of good-quality student accommodation. LJMU doesn't own any accommodation. Instead, we work with many trusted private providers.
Accommodation for semester one of 2026/27
Incoming exchange students attending LJMU during semester one of 2026/27 should send an email to request accommodation to onesemester@ljmu.ac.uk from 3.00pm BST on Monday 1 June. Current LJMU students who are attending a partner university overseas during semester two can also request accommodation for Semester One in this way.
Please do not send an email before this date and time as it will not be processed.
After sending an email, students will receive a link to a short form that asks for personal details plus their preferred accommodation. Rooms will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and the availability will be updated on this page.
Please note:
LJMU guarantees a room to all incoming exchange students, but we do not guarantee a particular room type or location. If all rooms sell out, additional rooms will be added but they may not be located in the halls shown below.
Students joining LJMU for the full academic year must request accommodation via the Applicant Hub. They are not eligible to request accommodation on a semester basis under any circumstances.
Tenancy dates
Single semester rooms will be available on the following dates:
- Semester one: Monday 7 September to Sunday 27 December 2026 inclusive (16 weeks)
- Semester two: Monday 11 January to Sunday 30 May 2027 inclusive (20 weeks)
Semester One tenancies cannot be extended beyond this end date under any circumstances. Students attending LJMU in Semester One do not need to be present in Liverpool during the assessment period in January 2027 as they can request an alternative assessment method.

Warning:
Please be careful if looking elsewhere for single semester accommodation. Such accommodation is in short supply in Liverpool and there is a significant risk of booking inferior quality housing or becoming the victim of fraud. Any accommodation advertised at cheaper prices than quoted here is likely to be extremely poor quality or it may not exist at all.
