Research integrity training
The University provides central and external research integrity training resources, supporting staff and students to use best practice in research and knowledge exchange.
Central training
- The Library’s Open Research Team offers a scheduled curriculum of workshops on research integrity, research evaluation, and research data management. See UniCal for details on sessions and to book your place.
- LJMU’s Canvas provides training on the responsible use of metrics, open research, data management, and research ethics and governance.
- The Integrity bitesize resource provides quick answers on research integrity and on Questionable Research Practices (QRPs).
External training
- Sign up for ‘Introduction to Research Integrity’, the UK Research Integrity Office’s new 2025-2026 research integrity training course provided through LJMU. You will need to register with your LJMU credentials. You can then save your progress and return to the course at any time before 21 May 2026.
- Content includes practical topics reflecting current challenges for research professionals, such as artificial intelligence, authorship, open research, data collection and management, declaring competing interests, research security, and collaborative working.
- The course consists of four modules on research integrity topics, each with a short test at the end. You will receive a certificate of completion when you complete all four modules.
- UKRIO provides training events and webinars for all to attend for free.
