Low-cost services

Printing

We recommend that you don’t buy your own printer. You can print at very low cost to any of our multifunction printers around the university, whether that’s in the library or a classroom, or from your personal laptop, PC, tablet or phone.

We also offer a wide range of bespoke printing services such as lamination, thesis or dissertation binding and much more.

All our printers have a scanning function where you can scan documents quickly and easily with OCR, multipage feed and more.

To learn more visit the Printing webpages.

IT Services support

We have a dedicated IT Services team available to help you throughout your time at LJMU and you can get support in-person, online or by phone.

Student Life Building

Come and see the team in-person on the upper ground floor of the Student Life Building (SLB). The SLB is also home to the Digital Studio, where you can access 3D printing, loan Virtual Reality headsets, use of our podcasting facilities, as well as other emerging technologies.

Online

We have lots of guides on our IT help webpages and you can log a request for help through our online platform LJMU Assist. Built into our IT help webpages and LJMU Assist is LJ, the university’s AI assistant. LJ is available 24/7 ready to answer questions and point you in the right direction. If LJ can’t fix your problem, it will connect you to a staff member during working hours or make sure your request goes to the right team. Prefer to chat with a real person? Just let LJ know and you’ll be transferred to a human agent if one is online.
