Student advice and wellbeing overview for staff
Staff supporting students
Students are increasingly seeking support from our university staff, often with challenges beyond their academic studies. Our students form trusting relationships with staff across campus through their academic departments, extracurricular activities and halls of residence. If a student reaches out to you for support we want you to feel confident in how to help and where to signpost.
Student Advice and Wellbeing are here for any student who may require additional support to fully participate in their studies. We are a dedicated and committed team who work collaboratively to provide direction, advice and guidance to our whole student community. We are not a replacement for statutory or emergency support services.
If you are concerned about a student, please let us know by using the Student concern form.
We help with:
- Money Advice: including applying for funding, managing money, financial hardship support and much more.
- Disability Advice Team: including applying for Disabled Students Allowance, support whilst studying and SpLD testing.
